JHS PackRat Multi-Mode Distortion Pedal

The JHS PackRat puts nine legendary RAT-inspired distortion circuits into a single pedal, delivering over four decades of iconic gain tones in one compact package. Using JHS's unique analog switching system, each mode recreates the original circuit with its correct component values, clipping options, and tonal characteristics.

From classic overdrive and distortion to aggressive fuzz-like saturation, the PackRat covers a huge range of sounds used by countless artists across rock, alternative, metal, blues, and indie music.

Controls are simple and familiar. Volume adjusts overall output level, Distortion controls the amount of gain, and Filter acts as a low-pass tone control to brighten or darken the effect. The Mode rotary switch selects between nine distinct RAT-inspired circuits, each with its own feel, response, and character.

Controls:
Volume – Adjusts overall output level
Distortion – Controls gain and saturation
Filter – Shapes overall brightness and tone
Mode – Selects between nine unique analog distortion circuits

Modes:
OG – Based on the original 1979 RAT v1
White Face – Classic mid-1980s RAT tone
Turbo – LED clipping for increased headroom and touch sensitivity
BRAT – Budget-era RAT variant with additional gain character
Dirty – Germanium clipping for maximum saturation
LA – Inspired by the Ibanez LA Metal, featuring op-amp clipping and enhanced frequency shaping
Landgraff MO'D – Boutique RAT-inspired distortion
Caroline – Based on the Caroline Wave Cannon design
JHS Mode – JHS's own modified RAT circuit with expanded tonal flexibility
